Hope in Mission: The Five Marks of Anglican Church
A Journey Toward Hope25
This Lenten season, Christ Church North Adelaide invites you to join us for a special Evensong series, “Hope in Mission”, as we prepare our hearts and minds for the broader mission of Hope25—a nationwide Anglican initiative to share the hope we have in Jesus Christ.
Running from Easter Day (April 20, 2025) to Pentecost Sunday (June 8, 2025), Hope25 is a season of intentional evangelism, encouraging every Anglican parish in Australia to creatively and contextually share the hope of Christ in their communities. Our Hope in Mission series serves as a time of prayer, reflection, and inspiration leading into this remarkable season of outreach and witness.
What is Hope25?
Hope25 is an opportunity for every Anglican church, parish, and community in Australia to share the hope we have in Jesus in a tangible and meaningful way. From Easter to Pentecost in 2025, parishes across the nation will be participating in local events, services, and initiatives to proclaim the message of hope in an uncertain world.
Here’s how Hope25 works:
- Each parish is encouraged to commit to at least one initiative that shares the hope of Jesus in their local context.
- Parishes are free to choose what best suits their community, whether it’s a single event or multiple activities for different groups.
- Resources, training, and support will be provided by Hope25 to help every church engage fully in this season.
Imagine every Anglican church—from cities to suburbs, from towns to rural communities—working together to proclaim the hope we find in Christ.

The Hope25 Story
Hope25 is an initiative of the Anglican Church of Australia, created in response to General Synod’s strategic priority of evangelism. This season of parish-based outreach is designed to equip and inspire churches to share the Gospel with renewed passion and creativity.
The story of Hope25 is simple yet powerful:
- It is a collective effort to proclaim hope in an uncertain world.
- It is an opportunity for churches to act locally and contextually, sharing hope in ways that resonate with their unique communities.
- It is grounded in prayer, teamwork, and the shared vision of bringing hope through Jesus to every corner of the nation.
How “Hope in Mission” Prepares Us for Hope25
Our Lenten Evensong Series, “Hope in Mission,” is designed to prepare our parish for Hope25 by exploring the Five Marks of Mission and how they relate to the theme of hope in Jesus Christ. Each Sunday in Lent, we will gather to reflect on the profound ways our faith brings hope to the world and how we are called to embody that hope in mission and outreach.
Through Scripture, beautiful choral music, and thought-provoking messages, we will be inspired to:
- Proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom
- Respond to human need by loving service
- Transform unjust structures of society
- Teach, baptize, and nurture new believers
- Safeguard the integrity of creation
This series will not only deepen our understanding of Christian hope but also equip us to participate fully in Hope25, sharing that hope with those around us.
Schedule of Themes and Speakers
Each service in the Hope in Mission series will focus on a specific theme of hope, a Mark of Mission, and Scripture readings that reflect God’s work in the world.
